It's not 6 AWG, but back in this post I mentioned finding 8 AWG Soild Copper at a Home Depot, in Buffalo, for pretty cheap.
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...9&postcount=28

For what it's worth, here is what I found written on it.

Code:
Southwire E23919F AWG 8 Cu Type TW 600 Volts Oil Resistant I RoHS
Appears to be Mfg'd by Southwire (never heard of 'em till now), which apparently does have some Canadian Sales outlets...

Emerald, check out electrical supply warehouses in the Buffalo area for email links or phone numbers and then inquire with them as to whether they carry it.

I'm interested in splitting a roll of 2" x 4" reflector without someone, if you're in the Scarborough, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa area (ok, if you're in the GTA).

$37 for a 50' roll (36" wide) + tax from Lowes. It's just that 50' is WAY MORE then anyone needs to build an M4.

Alternately if someone already has some, I'd be happy to pay for a piece of it.

Yep, and not enough for even a tiny 20' X 10' garden, heh.

2" X 4" mesh is the good size for a garden because it can keep out cats, rabbits and woodchucks.

Default #6 copper wire in Laval,QC ?

I also have a problem finding big solid copper. I was looking for #6 AWG I visted all the stores I could think of in Laval,QC and I couldn't find solid copper that big. I went to
  • Home Depot
  • Rona (3 stores)
  • Canadian Tire (3 stores)
  • Madisson
  • Patrick Morin
  • Format2000

Does anyone knows where I can buy solid #6 AWG copper wire in Laval,QC or North Shore of Montreal ?

Or an online stores would be great also.

Default Copper Wire

I live in Southern Manitoba and saw some bare #4 copper being sold by the foot at Menards in Grand Forks/Fargo/Minneapolis (where we were traveling).

Bought 10 feet -- enough for the elements on a SBGH I plan to build -- almost on a whim. Now I'm reading this thread and finding out it's not even available in Canada.

Wish I had bought more (about 92-cents a foot). Will definitely be making a materials list before my next trip across the line.

As a side note, Menards has awesome prices on RG6 as well.

I'm also thinking of trying 1/4-inch copper tubing (cheaper in the States, but at least it's available here) but worried about the 90-degree bends.

It's not typically available in Canada since it's not allowed for electrical wiring. It is used for electrical wiring in the US so it's widely available there.

i guess thats pretty much what i did with the rabbit ears
now that i know it works
i guess i should get thicker solid/1 piece tubing
for more stability in signal
not to sure where i should get 1/4" or 1/2" inch aluminum tubing though

Try Ridalco behind St. Laurent Blvd for tubing of all types.

FYI - Just found 2" x 1" x 24" x 10' welded 14 gauge wire mesh at Home Hardware website for $16.99 (which isn't bad for Canadian $$$).

Don't know if it's OK to post a link here so won't chance it. Just go to Home Hardware website and search for "Galvanized Wire Mesh" and it should come up.

I'm planning on using this for the reflector on my VHF-Hi circular loop project...

Default Looking for Schedule 40 PVC for a Gray Hoverman...

Can anyone point me in the right direction for Schedule 40 PVC (smaller sizes ie. 3/4" and 1/2") in the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph area? I am having trouble finding it (HD is a no go) has anyone purchased this in the area (fittings as well)? Not electrical conduit... the kind they can use in other areas for water lines in houses (don't think it is to code here in Ontario).

If anyone can let me know a good place, please let me know.

Thanks.
