just a matter of calling and calling and calling and calling and calling, sorry for the long forum of doing anything there but basically to get that UHF kit your going to have to keep calling to remind them you want it, its going to take a lot of huffing and puffing but they will give it to you

Does anyone know the phone number to call to activate your replacement receiver, I have to call them back , and I remember on that sheet, it said don't call the regular bell number, they gave me a specific number to call, looked everywhere for that piece of paper with that number on it but I must have thrown it out after they activated my receiver but know I have to call them back as I am having problems, thx

Go online and synchronize your receivers.

As peano says, on-line is the best way but if you are having problems just call 1 888 SKY DISH.

gibson, the number is 1-866-337-4617. But if you've already activated it and you're still having problems you should call 1-888-SKY-DISH (759-3474)

I got my UHF remote kits today and am not impressed so far.Does not appear to have the distance of the one that came with the 6100.I cannot make it work in the bedroom upstairs and the receiver downstairs at the other end of the house. If I can't get this to work this will suck. Will have to get out of bed and walk down the hall to change channels.UUUGGG

Try this trick. Attach the antenna to a 2 or 3 foot piece of coax, then attach the coax to the antenna post on the back of the receiver. That often improves reception of remote commands. Also, seeing as you are sending the signals downward, try orientating the antenna a bit horizontally, rather than vertically. That will give the signals "more" antenna to hit.

I don't see an antenna post on the back of the 6131.But how would that work?
I tried turning the antenna horizontally and it seems to be working better. Thanks VuMax |

Sorry, you're right. No antenna post. Thinking of a different model.

Received my replacement receivers last week from Bell. Both were refurbished units. To make a long story short. The 9241 was defective. After going through several call center employees I had to threaten to cancel before they would agree to replace my 9241. Bell tech came today and installed brand new 9241. My advice is not to do the replacement over the Internet. Ask for an installer to come to your house even if you can do it yourself. You will have a better chance of getting a new receiver and not a refurbished unit.

I have 2 (9242) in boxes that Bell sent me months ago when the swaps first started in order to replace my 2 (9200). I have yet to plug them in. I can see them online added to my account list of hardware. If they don't work I guess I will be stuck with the the 2 box solution per room.. ugh.

I just received a 9242 receiver today for my swap. The first person I phoned told me they only had the two receiver solution available (9241 and 5900), but I persisted with a supervisor and said I would explore the competition if they could not give me a PVR with the two-room/tv capability like my existing 9200.
She hunted one down for me and I got it by Purolator a few days later so I am happy with the customer service I received and glad I got a 9242. So the 9242's are still out there and I'm sure they get them in all the time even if they say they don't have one immediately available. Just be nice but firm and persist with your phone calls if you need that model. |

Glad you got the 9242. I have been saying that there are still a few around and you have proved me correct.
