Three years ago today (to the day), I bought the last PDP-5020FD at my local Bestbuy. I turned on the set this afternoon to find a (I think) 1 pixel wide black horizontal line about 2/3rds of the way up the screen, side to side. It appears on the screen when using my STB, media streamer and the set's own menu screen.
Interestingly, this set is still under warranty (I knew the salesman and was able to secure a very low price on a 4 year extended). I'd like to know a few things that the experts reading this forum may be able to advise me on 1. Is this a common problem that may be able to be fixed? I love my Kuro and I really don't want to lose it. 2. If so, should I expect an extremely long process? 3. If not fixable, any idea how Bestbuy will handle the fact that Kuros are no longer produced? How would they determine what is 'comparable', when (arguably) Kuros are still the 'top dog'. Has anyone else encountered a warranty issue with a Kuro following their discontinuation? Thanks in advance for any tips! Nix I'd be really |

Hi Nix,
I have heard reports that Pioneer kept back some Pro101's in their warehouse in case warranty issues arose where a Kuro that could not be fixed was replaced with a new 50 inch 101. So I would look into it before you have used all of your warranty. Last edited by 57; 2012-06-13 at 08:35 AM. Reason: UQR |
