Default Shaw TV and modem

I'm switching to Shaw in 2 weeks. Just wondering where does the TV signal come from? For Telus, everything comes from the modem (TV, cable, phone). If the Shaw modem is broken, can I still watch TV?

Thanks.
Tommy

Yes.

At this stage of the game all 3 use their own hardware.

With the Gateway it is possible for all 3, but it is not being used for that, yet. Just TV.

This way you do not lose all services in one fell swoop should the Gateway have issues.

Thank you. It makes more sense to have 3 independent hardwares.
