Default HD archiving to Blu-Ray recorder via 1394

The following Blu-Ray recorder:
http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Other...ign=productads

has 1394a, 1394b plus other ports, such as eSata and USB.

My question: If I have the above Blu-Ray recorder, can I archive to the Blu-Ray recorder in HD format using the 1394a port (which my SA8300HD has)? Or will the use of that port give me 480 resolution?

... by the way,

My SA8300HD eSata port is occupied by the external hard drive. And therefore, the data to be archived is contained in both the internal and external drives. So the eSata drive is not a solution for me.

If someone, perhaps 57, can make me remember how to access the programming pages of the SA8300HD, I would appreciate. I would like to access the 1394 page.

This information is mostly Rogers, however, it should apply to Videotron.

Just to confirm that on my PACE 551 (with Videotron) the firewire port is active and I can record just fine. I do have to use VideoReDo to strip the null packets and sometimes clean up the stream, but...

In reading all this, 57 and Fonceur, it seems to me that recording HD with a Blu-Ray recorder via Firewire, from the SA8300HD as source, is chancy at best.

It appears there is the copy rule in many instances then the empty data packets.
