I wasn't able to find any reported issues on the echoing, those that sent me their information yesterday will be contacted today to troubleshoot. If there's a preferred time to reach you at please let me know.
EDIT: Issue found and our network techs are working on a resolution. It's not a premise issue so you won't require a service call. Cheers.

I have been having this echo issue along with huge amounts of static. Sometimes its so bad that I couldn't hear the person on the other end.

Can you try plugging your phone directly into the Digital Phone terminal and retest? If you're unable to do that let me know via pm and we'll follow up.

We have a Shaw PRI here at work. We've been having Echo issues for several weeks now. Shaw says they're working on it.
Must be a widespread problem.

Within the last 3-4 weeks we have also been experiencing an echo. Not on all calls, but I would say 30-40% of the time. We have had Shaw Phone for about 5 years +/- and this is the first time I've had anything negative to say. It's been great up to now.
We are moving to a new house on Saturday, so I just figured that I would wait and see what happens there. If it doesn't go away, I'll have to book a tech visit. |

Shaw says they did an upgrade to some equipment on Monday, and the issue should be resolved. Still getting complaints from staff here, so don't think it's quite resolved.

Hey Penguin,
Are you still seeing echo issues? There was a patch to resolve the issue that went out on Friday 18th May and Tues May 22nd. (Service calls would not resolve this particular issue). |

Yep, that patch was what I was referring to in my last post.
Yes, we were still having issues on Friday. I called to add to the ticket, and got a call back later that they had made further adjustments. Fingers crossed.

Being on Shaw Phone for a long time I've had this echo for a long time. Most notably with my Dad on his Shaw phone.
I'll pay more attention to providers when I'm noticing the echo to see if there's a pattern/coincidence.

I haven't had an episode in some time now. When I first moved here in Sept. it was quite frequent.
Now if they can just sort out my Gateway issues, I'll be a happy camper. Lets hope this June update is as "big" as they say it is. |
