XFM 98.9 Radio

I don't l ive in an area close to XFM, and I listen to Satellite Radio when I'm close to home, but when I find myself in the Antigonish, Nova Scotia area, I like listening to XFM. A glance through their playlist reveals an eclectic mix of music from Cape Breton folk music to the hard-rocking sound of the local band The Trews, from country music, fiddle music to Celtic sounds to today's hits.

Their unique sound comes from the fact that they are completely independent from any of the big radio station conglomerates, owned instead by shareholders from communities throughout their listening area in northeastern Nova Scotia.
