Note: This update only applies to Motorola hardware
• Rollout of the software will start May 29, 2012 • Effects DCT700, 2500 and Advanced Moto DCTs (5100/6200/6208/6412/6416/3416/3080)Enhancements: Extended Information • Customers will now have quick access during video playback to information about the current VOD movie or TV show that they are watching • Pressing the INFO button twice during playback temporarily reduces the size of the video and moves it to the top right hand corner of the screen. • Extended information includes: synopsis, cast, rating, and other information. Functionality Improvements • The EXIT button on the remote can now be used to dismiss on screen prompts. • Left/Right arrows will now allow customers to ‘jump’ columns when navigating the store. • PVR’s will now automatically swap tuners to launch On Demand if the current tuner is recording content.Coming Soon: Search • Search by: Title, Actor, Director or Keyword • Able to search entire VOD library from set-top much like Exo.Shaw.ca • By using the “FAV” key on the remote, a customer can add search results to their wishlist • Requires a minimum of 3 characters to be typed inIf you find your digital box has hung up after the update a power cycle will be needed to complete the upgrade process. This is the FIRST troubleshooting step to take, followed by the usual channels. Let me know if you guys have any further questions and I’ll do my best to answer them for you. Cheers.

hugh, I think he was asking, if those boxes will get it in the future because these features are needed for all boxes not just those listed.

Maybe the 3400 and 3200 will be getting the Dream Gallery HTML5 UI instead so they are not listed???

Both my 6416 and 3400 restarted last night. 6416 was hung up and had to unplug to get it going again. 3400 rebooted on its own.
Is this the new VOD code? |

Any plan to resolve the "Duration shows up as 10 minutes longer than actual length" issue? This has been an issue on every Shaw box I've ever had, way back from the DCT2222 to my HDPVR, over the past 7+ years.
Whenever I play back a VOD movie rental, the progress bar at the bottom of the screen shows the VOD length as exactly 10 minutes longer than the actual length. If I rent a 30 minute VOD, the bar at the bottom shows 0:40 . If the VOD is a 2 hour movie, it shows as 2:10 length. |

Are you seeing any of the new functionality?
Try playing something on your pvr (if you have one) then initializing VOD. If it swaps tuners and launches VOD, you've got 2.5. If you don't have a pvr you can access the system menu by pressing: - Power+Select (on the dct) - Scroll down to "d08" - Look for something that reads "vod02xxz" - the version number is beside that After that just power cycle to exit. Cheers.

Any news on the release of this? All my DCT/DCX units are on VOD2.34 still.
