Rogers SD set-top HD channels ? - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

I have a HD capable Tv with a SD receiver. Do I really need to have a HD box like the rogers tech is telling me. All I want is TSN. Its cheaper instead of upgrading packages for one channel to just order the HD package that gives TSN 1 HD, TSN 2 HD, A&E HD...etc

Would the SD box just show it slightly less then HD or could the tuner in my Tv tune these channels If I ordered it via the web?

They want another 8.00 for HD rec rental and 10 for the package $18
vs
Digial Plus another $21
