I had a message on the STB for a series I had previously recorded successfully every other week and this week I noticed a message stating the channel doesn't allow recording. What's up with that?

There is a flag that the program originator can set to permit or forbid copying. I'd guess that the STB will obey that flag if set. There have been noted on DHC a few examples of the flag having been set before, by accident usually.
