Default Twitter on FibreOP TV

Twitter is available under the Apps menu for those humans that use it.

Well, I can't figure out how to "enable" FibreOp twitter, so I can't really get it going. I can sign in, but nothing happens.

Also, they shrink whatever you're watching on TV into a frame, with the feed at the bottom, I would assume. I don't see sacrificing the screen real-estate for Twitter.

If they had some sort of transparent widget that was an overlay on a part of the screen, it would be very useful.

I can see this frame approach being acceptable for Facebook, as you would look at it, then get back to what you were watching.

Twitter is more something that you read while an even is happening. At least that's how I use it.

OK. I got the email, and I'm signed in.

There's no way to search.

I appreciate the effort with apps. Aliant is doing the right thing, but this isn't very usable at the moment.

Two useless apps, when are we going to see a weather app, something useful?

I want a Netflix app. Maybe I can move the Wii somewhere else, as that's all it does.

Because you have to wait a long time watching the weather channel to get your forecast since it's a provincial feed. A weather app you could just plug in the city and have the forecast lickity split.

The apps aren't actually *on* your set top box. They are essentially web pages that use defined APIs from Microsoft.

technically i am sure they still add space to the firmware build but it is so little it would not be a valid argument. also i don't mind waiting a few seconds for my town to scroll by

Nope! No space to the firmware build, and they can be deployed without updating the firmware. It's nice like that.

I think a weather network app is necessary.

Bell spoiled me with that. I can set the cities I want to see weather for.

Just use the same one.
