Ya, tropos have been here for the last few days... from 140km out, I have been able to pick up your CBUFT (RF 26), which is about -15 NM for me.. amazing.

I wish they could kill channel 33 here (ION) or move it to a different RF, so that I have a chance to pick up your CKVU (CityTV) on RF 33.

I am in Victoria and I don't get 33 from Vancouver much, it is broadcast at a very low power. you might beable to get the same station broadcast on 27 from Victoria. but KBTC might interfere from sea-tac

I don't think I've ever received 33 from Vancouver, but of course get it from the local Victoria transmitter (27).

My daughters both like Qubo on 33 and as Ndnile says - it is quite consistent (prior to me moving the antennas in the attic).

My daughters love Qubo that is one of the reasons I switched to cm4228hd just to get that better. CBC kids and QUBO keeps the mobs at bay lol.

Default Update from Nanaimo, BC

Thanks Zapperman,

Put up the Channelmaster 4221HD (bought online from the Source, delivered to local store). No boosters of any kind. It is on a 4 foot mask just above my roof, (looks very outer spacey) and pointed it halfway between Mt Seymour and Bellingham.

Excellent results, excellent HD quality: 12 stations total, including CBC, CTV, local Vancouver stations, Bellingham stations, some Spanish station, and of course the shopping channel.

Well I managed to get a sweet new setup this weekend, stacked xg91's aimed at seattle joined with a combiner moded cm4228hd pointed at Vancouver and stacked rca ant751's (vhf) aimed at seattle.

I put some notch filters on the lines to stop interference, cm aimed at vancouver has a ch33 and 37-39 notch filters. xg's aimed at seattle has a
19-23 notch filter.

I have 4 amps, high pass filters fm traps etc in the system aswell.

This is the best setup I have ever had and I no longer have to rotate!

Will post some picks and more details soon. Thanks to the forum for all the helpful info I could not have done it with out all the expert feed back.

Default City TV (CKVU) Reception in Nanaimo

My contact at Rogers (who is a senor official) has asked if people in Nanaimo could comment on the reception of City TV (CKVU) there. Apparently he has been getting mixed messages on reports for coverage there.

@ Roger I can't comment on Nanaimo, but I can comment about EPG

CKVU-DT (city) went down a few week ago for a day and ever since then EPG has had issues. There is EPG, but not for the current time and subsequent 1.5-2 hours (ie I have turned on my TV, and 1.5-2 hours after first flipping to that channel, then I get EPG.

CHNM-DT has still doesn't have EPG and the time signal is 20 min slow (whenever they reset it to the correct time, it gradually becomes more and more off the real time, each day).

No. I invited him to, but he said he is too busy. As I said he is a very senior official (I am lucky to have his ear).

Default Amazing the diff a few feet will make

Spent the majority of the afternoon swapping out the second mast (the one attached to the rotator at the top of the first mast) and connected everything to guy wires so I don't experience what happened during last March's wind storm again. In all, I now have about 3-4 extra feet for the top antenna (AD-DB8).

I'm rotating at 5 degree intervals and am amazed that I now get 5.1, 7.1, 11.1, 21.1 (King, Kiro, Q13, + more) which I've only received a few times before on very exceptional days and very spotty.

Yes, I was a little disappointed this morning to see my 'new' channels weren't coming in.

Oh well - I was very surprised that 3' would have brought in all those extra channels for me.

What are you saying? Those Seattle channels you got was because of tropo over the weekend?

So, you can't get 'em anymore?

On the flip side, I've been able to get your RF 17, and sometimes RF43 over the weekend, when I normally don't...
