Problems like these usually require the receiver to be removed from your account by Bell, leavibg the receiver with just the free preview channels, then they add programming back.

Not that DOES cure 95% of these issues, rest require receiver replacement.

Default 6131

Still many problems with this 6131.Bell never returned my call.I will call them again on this issue. However ,Another question.Let's say I decide to leave Bell for some reason. My hard drive for the 6131 has loads of movies on them.If I go with another provider, will I be able to watch them again with this hard drive on another receiver?

Default Possible Nimiq 6 Causing Temp Issues with losing Transponders?

Hi all just just wondering,

On my 6131...according to the system info dropped signals started occurring on both my 6131 ird's on May 23rd around 9:00pm est...Ive had two dropped signals on the 24th and today on both as well.

I dont know all channels that are affected...for sure I have lost 295 WGN (SD) (Sat 91 Transponder 16)

All 82 Transponder readings are within the 75 to 80% range.

On 91 I do not have transponder(s) 16, 20 and 30....a handfull of some transponders 91 are 41 to 45%....a couple others are in the 59 to 62% and the rest are 73 to 75%

I am located on shoreline of Lake Huron and was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues or if this is possibly being caused by the positioning of this new satellite.

Check switch on both ird's come back saying fewer sats are detected then previous and under system menu the 91 sat box is red with X.

Weather the last few days has been sunny and clear..today some cloud cover moving in.

Thanks Everyone!

tobor26: Quick answer - No. The files are encrypted and are only readable by similar receivers on Bell - not even the 9XXX series.

You could offload (copy) to an HTPC using something like the Hauppauge, discussed in the HTPC forum here.

Shaun, Nimiq 6 is still in a test position at 138 West Longitude, quite a ways away from it's final location @ 91.1 so I can't see how that would cause the problems you've ran into.

Are you still having issues? There may have had in bad weather over the upload location in North York?

I haven't encountered any issues here in Winnipeg

Shaun,

The readings you listed are very poor considering your location. It would appear your dish simply needs to be re-aimed slightly.

Agreen, try re-aiming the Dish for better signal levels.

I'll check into it...nothing should have moved the dish in the last 3 days..I have been here.. it's only a small handfull of transponders that are low to mid 40's primarily everything else on 91 is low to mid 70's

Thanks to the mod who moved my post...Sorry it was in the wrong forum initially

Mid 70's is too low anyway.

Could be a wasps nest inside the LNBF.....lol It is not always the Dish that moved, also check for Line Of Sight issues.

Think it may be a weather problem as skies are getting grey in this area now.

Default error 005

Back to my original problem with 6131. How would Bell removing my receiver from my account then re applying it back on, clear up the error 005 problem?

tobor26: Sounds like you've already gone through all the usual steps, so I imagine this is probably one of their last troubleshooting steps. I'm suspecting you may have a defective receiver. Is it still under warranty?

Thanks for the replies gentleman...I re-pointed the dish which has fixed the issue for now..Transponder 16 is back...nothing on 5 and 11 but from what I've read thats fine.

There are two issues that most likely are effecting my issue...

1. Now that the trees along my property bank have blossomed the foilage most likely is hindering the sat somewhat (my dish is on my deck pointing into the tops of these trees) I'll have to live with that

2. I believe that coax cable going to the lnb for 91 is due to be replaced. It is getting brittle and extremely stiff... I repointed my dish using a spare tv and a newer 10 ft piece of spare coax directly from dish to the receiver...SAT 91 transponder 1 was about 66% to 68%...when connected back to the original piece going into the house the signal inside on the receiver is about 59 to 60%

I checked the grounding block and it appears as new as the day I bought it..so I'm figuring the original coax line is probably due
