Yup, Hulu Plus. So you need to go buy one of those "gift" credit cards at the grocery store to use on Hulu.

After a bit of trial and error, I can also confirm that unblock us will work with U.S. Netflix on the Xbox 360. It is simply a matter of confirming your setup with netflix.ca and then changing your DNS. Then simply log in and out of xbox live, and run Netflix. You will then be logged into netflix.com.

The US Netflix (I have an US account) works on the ATV2. I'm using unblock-us, with DNS settings made at the router. I then put in specific settings on my PS3 to watch stuff on the Canadian Netflix that isn't available in the US.

I don't want my DNS for every device in my house to go through them, besides I use open DNS for the reporting features etc. Each to his own I guess.

Is there any downside to every DNS request going through them? It may take a few extra milliseconds compared to using your ISP's DNS but is that much of an issue?

I also just change the DNS setting on the specific devices that I use with Netflix (a couple of PCs plus three iPads) but I don't bother changing the DNS back to the default Rogers DNS when not using unblockus - is there something I should be concerned about?

I don't really think so, but all your IPs DNS requests would be possibly logged on their servers. If someone was sniffing around and wanted to look at your surfing habits unblock would have them. Try out OpenDNS to see what is being logged, it's pretty amazing. As you mention speed would be the other consideration. Google DNS is pretty fast. Primary: 8.8.8.8 Secondary: 8.8.4.4 Read more here, there is also a link to further security information, it's pretty extensive. Google knows DNS! (and why wouldn't they, being the worlds biggest search provider! ;-)

I love unblock-us! I use it on my boxee box and android tablet. Its simply the greatest service I've ever come across. Streaming media is the only way I watch TV. I cut the cable months ago and havnt looked back. Unblock-US is one of the main reasons for this. At$5 a month its an insanely good deal compared to VPN's.

We're using unnblockus. It's working just fine with Hulu, Netflix, PBS.com, and BBC.co.uk, and anything else I've tried so far.

No regrets. And if there ever were any regrets, it would be at most a $5 regret.

Try it.

I'm somewhat confused with the Unlock-US setup for the 360. What does changing the DNS settings on the console do? If these settings are changed, would I still be able to connect to my PC (for streaming pictures etc...), would xbox live still work the same---or do I have to manually go in and change these settings depending on what I want to do? If these settings could be changed once, then left, and everything else works as it previously did, that would be ideal.

I have Hulu plus on my Xbox using a US gamertag here in Canada. I tried using a VISA gift card but it wouldn't work. I then tried using my CC and fake US addy I used for signing up for Hulu lol and voila it worked/works.

I think I may give up Hulu though and stay with Netflix.

Things are getting costly as I had to buy a month GOLD membership for my US gamertag for this to work. Luckily it was a special $1 for GOLD one month membership.

You can use Hulu Plus with a Canandian Xbox Live account. You just need a US Live account to download the Hulu app itself.

I made a US live account and used it to download the app and I haven't used since. Once you have the app on your Xbox you can use it from any account.

Should consider OverPlay SmartDNS too - it's around the same price, but includes content from more Countries, as well as the ability to choose beween Netflix content from the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, and South America by selecting from a drop down list on the overplay website - surprisingly Netflix US isn't always the best!

How exactly does the Unblock-US fee get charged. I entered my email for the free trial, then was emailed the setup instructions. All this was are the DNS changes needed for my console (xbox360). These are the same instructions you can find just by googling. I've only set this up to test out the US Netflix offerings and it did work. From here on in though, how will the trial end? All I've provided is an email address. This isn't about bypassing paying for the product, I'm just unclear how their free trial is supposed to operate. What would stop someone from just entering the DNS settings and then using the service without paying.
