Default programming "skips", not quite audio dropouts

I have been noticing lately that while watching programs on my DCX3400, every once in a while the show will skip for a fraction of a second.

It's not an audio dropout where the video plays; it's like it just skipped ahead by a fraction of a second.

It happens even when I rewind the program and play it again.

It seems to have no pattern, will happen with various shows on various HD channels, and will happen either when watching it as a DVR recorded program or live.

I'm wondering if it could be an mpeg4 issue as I have noticed the rewind/FF is now hard to control but have read about that issue on this forum.

thanks for any input.

Ya same here.. Skipping a second or 2. With audio drop.. Noticed it. I it seem to come and go at random intervals.

Not sure if it's the same thing but mine has been freezing for 2 or 3 seconds then is fine, affecting SD and HD channels randomly. I mentioned it at work and they noticed it too.

I hope this isn't a precursor to a repeat of last July when we would lose everything 3 nights a week!!

Sorry, no skipping here. We only have a handful of MPEG4 HD channels here right now so it's hard to tell. The thing I posted about a week ago has cleared up.
