Here's the "Shaw Student Speed Bundle" (I think you have to be a full-time student in a post-secondary institution).

For only $36/month for 12 months*, you get:
  • Shaw High Speed 20 with 20 Mbps download speed and 200 GB of data
  • Shaw Personal TV with 40 standard-definition (SD) channels, up to 19 HD channels and one Digital Box rental

Offer available to those with a valid student ID for the 2011/2012 calendar year. Regular rates apply after 12 months. HD capable hardware is required for HD programming.

For those of us who were lucky enough to sign up for the SPP when the Best of HD package was $20, I hope there are no price increases planned! I also got the News package at $5 as well.

some posts are indicating they may not be adding new channels for people that get it for 20 bucks. so big deal.

That is their usual MO - first, provide disincentives to stay on the "old" package (no new channels), followed by an eventual forced-switch to the "new" package.

TV is all the same. The less I spend the better, as long as I get some channels.

I agree. The current personal tv + best of hd pretty much has all the channels I would want.

I get all the sports channels and space. The other half gets hgtv, animal planet, and the food network.

I don't think I'll be too worried about any upcoming missing channels. Hopefully the $20 package holds out for a while.

According to Shaw Champ in this post http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...&postcount=356
Nat Geo Wild is included the Best of HD. No mention if its not included in the grandfathered $25 version.

Space wasn't included in Best of HD when I got it.

Now, if only Discovery World HD would get added, I could lose Entertainment 1 and save $10. I'm kinda over G4 it seems. Only shows I might watch are AOTS and X-Play. Even that is getting harder and harder to do. City TV HD has Reviews on the Run and EP Daily, in HD, which suites me just fine for my game news cravings. (So much easier to look it up online anyway.) I was hoping G4 would come to BoHD but now I just don't care.

How was SPACE not included in best of hd? It was the whole reason they made it? So people could get the 5 new channels shaw offered just before Christmas (and get around the sd requirement). I don't think best of hd was ever offered without SPACE in the package. (unless maybe it was one of those channels that needs the DNU upgrade to take place, in which it would still be a part of the package, but you just wouldn't get it?).

It is possible I am mistaken. I wouldn't be the first time. *blush*

I was pretty sure I had to get E-1 for Space, G4, and while on the phone with the rep, I realized Discovery World was in there to. (I remember thinking "close call. missed it wasn't in BoHD".) Thinking back now I am still pretty sure that's how it was.

But again, I'll be the first to admit I may be mistaken.

@GamerGuy, I distinctly remember that Space HD was included with Best of HD when it was introduced... After the free preview of course...

The only channels NOT included were Oasis, the former HDNet and Discovery World HD.

The channel line-up guide on the Shaw website also confirms Space HD is in the Best of HD package (at least for our region).

I can confirm that Space HD was part of the original Best of HD (at least in Lethbridge AB). It's one of the reasons I switched over from Entertainment 1/2
