It is. But Cardiff is only 2 hours by train to central London. In LA you can't even get across town that quickly by transit.

Anyone know when the next 3 Sherlock movies will be shown in Canada? I thought i read that they are starting in the US in a week or two with the new ones.

There was a note on the Sherlock Facebook page that series 2 would be showing on PBS in May--we missed it when it was on BBC in Feb, so I'm hoping we'll catch it this time.

No word yet when Series 3 is coming.....

PBS is slated to show it on May 6, May 13 and May 20 at 9:00pm.

Hi spidinator i'm not sure what you mean by 'the next 3' because season 2 was in Canada months ago like it says in this thread and season 3 isn't filmed yet. The ones NB Josh mentioned on PBS arent the next 3 for Canadians because their the ones that were already on in Canada. But if you missed them you can see them on PBS if you get PBS.

Also if you speak French I just read that they'll be on CBC French starting next week.

Just a quick FYI for when Season 3 does appear - BBC iPlayer streams the shows when they are played in the UK and they seem to be available for one week after broadcast via the iPlayer website. Canadians cannot normally access iPlayer but you can get around that restriction with VPN or unblockus. iPlayer is located at http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/

I must have misread something then. I was reading tvguide.com column and the reader was asking about Sherlock and the reply was the next three were going to show very soon. Obviously though I am mistaken if they havent even been filmed yet lol. Thanks for the info!!

Hi again Spidinator since TV Guide.com is an American website I'm sure they were talking about Sherlock on PBS not in Canada. So if you missed it on BBC in Canada and you get PBS then I hope you watch it this weekend, its a terrific show!

I recorded it from BBC Canada but have deliberately not watched it yet because I know that BBC Canada edit shows badly for commercials (e.g Spooks) so I prefer to watch it on PBS and then compare. Perhaps it won't be cut so badly as it is a 90 minute show that BBC Canada expands to 2 hours whereas other BBC shows like Spooks are close to an hour long so have to be cut for the commercials. I am still annoyed about the finale of Spooks where some important scenes were cut on BBC Canada so I hope PBS show that soon.

Also, BBC Canada is standard def only; PBS will be broadcasting it in HD (as well as SD).

We bought season 1 & 2 in Blu-Ray from amazon.uk on April 9th for CDN$29 all-in and received the set on April 16th! It's a fantastic series, very entertaining. One note though, although it's region free, it wouldn't play on our Sony XBR (I'm guessing because it's 50i) but played fine on my son's computer and our Philips TV.

9-10:30 on KCTS (PBS Seattle) HD is channel 204 (SD is 52?) on Shaw in Chilliwack.

Darn. Wish I'd done my homework before purchasing season 1 on Blu-ray. I've bought many BD's from Amazon UK with no issue, but I always make sure they're truly region-free. But when it says "Region Free" right in the title, I assumed it was okay. Won't play on my PS3 / Panasonic plasma (not sure what component is preventing playback)
