Well, it looks like the Leafs agreed to do it. There was some concern they wouldn't. The Wings announced at the Press Conference that they would do it, if asked.

I figured HBO Canada was going to air it as in years past, but perhaps one of CBC/Bell/Rogers has picked it up... Given the language and graphic nature of the show, I would not want to see a censored version.

Glad to see Detroit being featured. HBO does a great job. If it's not on HBO Canada then it's not worth watching.

I am curious how the rating for this will pan out for HBO. I suspect they will get a huge boost in numbers just for having T.O. on the show. Even if the American audiance dwindles, I think ratings will still be up.

Good or bad/logical or not - the Leafs certainly have a huge fan base in Ontario and accross Canada. More than Rangers or Flyers from last year.

Why? I watched it on RDS last year. Except for French narration, instead of English, it was unedited. There were ads, but each broadcast was 75 minutes long, I think.

I'd think it will be on HBO Canada though.

What time of the day did it air on RDS?

It varied. I think most first broadcasts were after Habs games. Some repeats aired in the afternoon and early evening though.

If it's on a channel like CBC it will have commercials and be edited to hell. It was painful watching HBO Boxing on TSN. Don't want to repeat a similar experience.

So at the upfronts yesterday Rogers announced they secured the rights to air HBO 24/7 on both Sportsnet and CityTV.

Can't find a press release on it but it was discussed briefly on PTS at the 28 minute mark. John Shannon made note that there is likely to be editing for the language!

So I am guessing that means HBO Canada won't have it, which just seems odd.

This is stupid. Half the reason people like this series is because it's uncensored, unless CityTV plan on showing at 2am so they can run it properly.

If anyone thinks what you have been watching so far has been totally uncensored, you are mistaken. There is no way the league would allow some of the things said in the heat of battle out there for public consumption. Its simply a matter of leaving "just enough" in to make it seem as if the viewers are getting the "inside" version.
