Shaw Direct Twitter said that Slice and DIY Network are on free preview for the month of April....weird that they haven't updated the website though.

I already get Slice, but DIY I don't, and when I manually tune to that channel it does come in, but they haven't updated the guide for the channel to be "active" in the guide and have the "free preview" icon

I have OVP. DIY is not included in my package and I see the channel in the guide and can tune to it. It doesn't say anything about freeview yet though.

Slice is included in OVP so I can't comment on that one.

I have Digital Indulgence Lite. I heard from a Shaw Direct rep last Monday (a week and a half ago) that DIY was on freeview starting Mar 31st. It did not come up in my Guide (I have unsubscribed channels hidden), and it is not on the website as an April freeview, but I discovered a few minutes ago we are getting DIY, but it does not come up as a freeview.

Hi please we are new to Shaw and we just looked at all the promo channels but they only had PPV. Which channel please tells the free channels for May? Tnx!

Looking at the Shaw Direct website... ABC Spark (C-537/A-188) until June 30th. Action (C-611or631/A238or256), iChannel (C-593/A-222), The Pet Channel (C-556/A-187) and T+E (C-572/A-224) all 'til the end of May.

There doesn't appear to be any HD channels in preview mode.

hi everyone I just noticed a channel we dont usually get so I looked at the SD website and here's the info for June:

There are some HD channels and I think people said that NatGeoWild HD is in MPEG4 so if you want to make sure you can get MPEG4 try that channel. If Im right--please somebody else let us know.

Leafs TV is in free Preview until June 15th for everyone, to air the Calder Cup Finals.

Free previews June same kind of crap different month! Showcase is a pretty weak offering since I don't know anybody who does not have it who is not on the slimiest of basic package. SD sometime add one or two channel by the fifth of the month.

i don't think it is. because leafstv hd is supposed to be on channel 454 but all they keep showing is a second hd feed of tsn.

Shaw Direct doesn't carry Leafs TV in HD. They only used 454/398 to carry Leafs games that were broadcast on that channel in HD. None of the other programming was made available in HD on Shaw Direct.

Any news on what's free for July? Only thing I can find so far is Golf Channel, and that's only until July 8.

The Golf Channels continues until July 8th.
From July 2nd to August 1st... Family Channel, Nickelodeon, Teletoon and Treehouse.

Seems like an odd selection of channels since most of us already get these kids channels included in our basic packages except Nickelodeon.
