It would appear Universal Sports will soon leave WGRZ 2-2 and be available as a cable channel only. Here is an article that gives that impression.
http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/2...ticast-outlets I wonder if WGRZ knows that? |

Chips, I've moved your post from the Buffalo and area station status thread. Please see the discussion already in progress.

Maybe now they can keep RTV. They have no more excuse that they are removing it to provide better reception for Universal Sports.

Since Universal Sports is carried by Time Warner Cable, on their digital tier, I wonder if WGRZ may consider keeping RTV and eventually moving it to 2-2, to keep another station on Time Warner? Of course it would depend on wether Time Warner would carry it, instead of Universal Sports. And then the question is, can you sell some local advertising with two Retro Channels in a depress market, like Buffalo? I can't see any Buffalo station wanting to go the expense of Mobile DTV, while the FCC will be moving them on the dial.

RTV is gone from 33-2-3 today. Just a test pattern saying it would no longer be broadcast on that channel...
Is it being replaced by something else? Or just gone? |

Yes, the Nashville Network is returning, but this time to the OTA airwaves. Same logo, and with Crook and Chase. Here is the link

I would like it if one of the Buffalo stations picked-up on this.
http://www.broadcastingcable.com/art...Subchannel.php WETA in Washington is adding a new digital subchannel OTA with all-UK content. WETA-UK.

Yes, I am so looking forward to this! However, the number of subchannels stays the same. Create gets the boot.
