Well thats fantastic for Country Music fans, sadly CMT is just like ABCspark and every other channel that airs America's Funniest Home Videos ... shows like that etc ..
Great news!! |

One catch?
Since TNN(original) turned into Spike, will this TNN(New) be allowed in Canada. Even though TNN was licensed that's for Spike not this one. And will CMT fight it. Last edited by Danster; 2012-04-20 at 06:57 PM. Reason: typo |

Typically the CRTC has not been favourable to allowing digital sub-channels to be carried by BDU's. It will be a bonus to OTA people if there is a border station that picks this up.

Another possibility is that TNN would be picked up by a Canadian affiliate. Something like the days when CHCH was operating as the now-defunct CH / E! channel. We may get a watered down version of TNN if an independent television station in Canada applies as an affiliate. Of course they could not carry 100% of the TNN programming because of Canadian content rules.

Interesting. This is the first time I hear of a network coming back after having switched to a different format. I wonder if some others will follow suit.

Wouldn't Spike own the trademarks to TNN?

oh yeah i remember TNN. They turned into a male-oriented channel and aired shows like Ren & Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon. I can't sleep anymore from watching that show! LOL!

That was TNN which turned into Spike.
Long ago it was called the The Nashville Network and has a strong mid-south country feel. This new network is going to being that TNN back, or something like it. Including Crook And Chase, I hear. |

Whoa that's cool! Yeah I wonder if it'll be available in Canada or not. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Probably not. At last the way the CRTC currently works.
