New Graphics for TSN

I too noticed the change in frame rate for replays... it did that the last few weeks of the regular season too... and yes, I remember the odd game in first round had the new bar (that we first saw at WJHC), then went back to the silver, then by about Game 5s it was all new for everything.

Yeah its nothing really new for their tv production the playoffs, but it seems they rolled out a few new items for their website, ie the Play of the Year Showdown contest and the Series pages designed with some of the new style graphics. They're really putting theirselves behind, Fox, NBC, CBC, Sportsnet, and CSN has all revamped in the past year or so but yet TSN is reluctant, though its designing in house and sport by sport. I won't expect anything now until at least October or so.

They were using the new L3's at last year's NHL Draft for god's sake!

Are they using ancient graphics hardware that requires them to plug in variables for every team or something instead of just "click Toronto, turns blue" like Fox is all like?

I'm getting pretty tired with TSN not updating anything ... for God sake it took CTV 14 years to update Comedy Network, ESPN has gone thru many different styles etc over the past 3 years! WE have no change what so ever ... I wish the CRTC made the same kinda thing were all Canadian channels had to be in 16:9 by a certain date just like in the U.S., but by the time we do that, the Super HD TV's will be rolled out LOL

Haven't heard anything or noticed anything new except for what those previous posted in this thread. I have been following @Paraone_sky on Twitter since he has ties with TSN and his latest tweet about the final rollout was back in late February/early March. Given that they supposed to be Canada's Sports leader they are lacking in technical aspects while Sportsnet completely ovehauled in October swiftly and not just on one sport or platform but everything.

Haven't seen anything new yet and its midway through May. However as Viper550 said in the SportsCentre thread that have been receiving some new hardware/software from CTV, and with CFL season getting closer as well the 2012 Olympic games, its possible for a revamp but as history suggests don't expect anything. Did anyone notice how fluid the scoreboard TSN was using for Euro 2012 was? They're about as fluid as ESPN's usual stuff.

Part of me wonders if this is a sign of things to come.

Was just about to post Viper, did notice the new scoreboard for TSN, similar to ESPN and their own for MLS. As for other aspects, no change in lower thirds or anything, other then the EURO themed ones. Next event to start up I believe now is the CFL. If there's an award for slowly (dragging) rolling out or implementing new stuff there would be no contest, TSN takes it all lol.

this better be one of those "things to come." kind of things, I really REALLY want TSN to improve their graphics ... REALLY BADLY. like how i've said at least a billion times. 16:9 ... improved lower thirds ... new sportsticker for Sportscentre ... the sportscentre intro that the ESPN sportscenter intro uses .. since 2011 ... lmao. TSN has used the same sportscentre intro for at least 4 years.

Its using the 29.95 FPS replay animation, but STILL the old L3's. Nice try; either that or they're going to randomly only start using them on the 2nd game tonight (cause well, you know how inconsistent TSN's scoreboard for MLS is. But thankfully it seems like they finally got the fonts ironed out to look just like ESPN's now.)
