I'm looking for some help out there.
I am looking at Yamaha NS-BP300 bookshelf speakers for my home theater system. I'm trying to setup a 7.1 system probably with a Yamaha RX-A1000 receiver. I am a newbie at this stuff so I am not sure if these speakers are good, bad or what. I can get them for a good price so that is why I am looking at them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I believe that would be a huge mismatch in terms of pairing with a Yamaha RX-A1000. That AVR deserves a lot more speaker. Also, make sure you like the sound of the speakers - the Japanese are not known for excellent speakers, especially in this price range. If you have a "female significant other", make sure she likes them - women are typically more sensitive to high frequencies.
Suggest you consider something from a true speaker manufacturer, like Paradigm, PSB, etc. Others here will have some more suggestions. In the meantime, check out some FAQs, posts: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=57741 Useful Post: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=76082 If only FAQ.

Can you tell me what you don't like about these or is it just the brand name?
Are bookshelf speakers a good choice for a souround system? |
