Just to echo Dan's post. All HDTVs have had an ATSC tuner for many years. Note that PC monitors (no speakers) are the exception.

You can have multiple hook-ups in your bedroom TV. The OTA signal will use the coaxial cable input and you will have all the other inputs free. My TV has 6 or 7 inputs. Look for the HDMI inputs.

If the OP goes HD OTA in the bedroom, ie no cable or satellite, then what PVR could he use. I think that is the question he is asking.

Thnkas, yes, correct, that my question. Ie if I had no cable service, and just an OTA installation, could I make use of a previously owned PVR, to record OTA channesl?

I bought a 32" LED for the bedroom for $199 and the size was perfect. It is 720P, and has an ATSC/QAM tuner so I can view ClearQam digital cable without a cable box. I paired it with a Apple TV 2 (720p) for renting movies and watching Netflix. For $199 this was a great bedroom solution and far better in quality than what I had purchased 5 years ago.

All newer TV's seem to have ATSC/ClearQam tuners.

No. But you can buy a PVR designed for OTA. Check out the Channel Master 7400 PVR here.
