Unofficially,

I can't see much synergy between telcos and media, (or real estate for that matter) anymore than owning a auto plant and an oil refinery. So I fear that telco acquisition of television stations is primarily to deny that content to delivery competitors. Hopefully the CRTC can find a solution.

Anyone know about ABC Spark? I read in another post it was added to the standard telus satellite programming, does that mean optik should be the same?

(wifey is in panic mode!)

channels being added on telus satellite is out of telus' control as its bell that uplinks the content. there is more than just abc spark that telus sat might have over optik.

Just noticed AMC On Demand under the VOD choices. So far it only lists Mad Men available for viewing. Hopefully there will be more shows in the future.

I'd getting 703, and I'm only on Best of HD. If there's no preview, I'm guessing that it's part of the Best of HD package then. Is it confirmed that there is no preview for Bloomberg HD?

Video On Demand is now showing a "TV On Demand" tab. It's only got one category for "Kids & Family" but says that it is "temporarily unavailable" when you select it. I assume it's going to carry some network tv shows. Looks like this month is going to be a busy month of new stuff

Must be a free preview of Bloomberg HD on (703). If it had been added to the Best of HD Package I think that Bloomberg SD (102) would have been added as well. I highly doubt that there will be any additions to the Best of HD package in the near future other than channels added to the Essentials. Presumably channels such as Space HD and Discovery HD will still be added to this package (if they can ever conclude a deal with BELL) since the SD versions of these channels were included in the package from the beginning.

It will be interesting to see if they offer the Best of HD package again in the future and if they do will it be the same as the current package or will some of the more recently added HD and SD equivilents be added to it as well. If more is added I would have to assume that more will be added to the price as well.

They will happily change you over to what ever package has the new HD channels in them. That's part of the reason they keep offering more and more channels!

Sure you can call and make threats to leave and then they will have to decide if it is worth having you as a customer or not. I would save that option for when I feel I am really being wronged rather than when I have a package that seems to be a great deal but I am only 99% happy with its contents. Each new channel, SD or HD costs the provider money so no one can expect them to keep providing all the new additions for free. At least the options are available to us. Other providers aren't adding much HD at all so then your only option is to leave if you want more HD.
