Default AVRs with upconversion

I want to clean up the wiring for the AV system in my bedroom which has an AVR that is several years old and does not have HDMI inputs. I would like an AVR that supports upconversion (aka transcoding) so that I only need an HDMI cable from the AVR to the TV.

Any suggestions on what the cheapest, half-decent AVR to buy? I have several other Yamaha Receivers of various vintages and I like them. But the lowest end current AVR that they have is the RX-V371 which doesn't appear to upconvert. It appears that they may be coming out with a new model (the RX-V373) but I can't tell if it upconverts and it doesn't appear to be available in Canada yet. Does anyone know if this model does upconversion?

Based on the Features/specs, it doesn't look like it.

Many of the Denons do transcode, but again, check the specs.

Nieither the Denon 600 ($300) nor the Denon 1712 ($500) have this feature according to the FS website.

The Pioneer VSX-921-K (on sale for $300) does appear to have this functionality. How are Pioneer AVRs regarded?

Looks like you need to go to the 1912 to get transcoding with Denon. Watch for sales. Pioneers are OK, but basically you get what you pay for (list price wise). Sale prices around Boxing week had several huge sales - close to half price on select Denon, Pioneer, Yamaha, etc.
