I bought the Xbox 360 with Kinnect 4gb unit on cyber Monday for $199.00, but other than a confirmation of my order, I have heard nothing. Has anyone else had this experience? I saw online that there are over 700 units on backorder. Hopefully it will arrive before Christmas.

No such luck getting it to work properly. I was able to play one adventure game which was sooooo fun. But the kinect kept losing my identity, then calibrating and calibrating, then lose my identity again. It did seem to work better WITHOUT the zoom. Which is suppose to help. I would not endorse the use of th zoom.

I have packed everything up and I will return it tomorrow.

On a positive note I saved myself money lol

Too bad it won't work in my apartment.

Reviews on the Run looked at the Nyko branded Kinect zoom attachment and they said it didn't work...and if anything made it worse. Eventually the PC version of the Kinect will come out and it's meant to handle objects up close.

Question Kinect games question

Of those who bought a Kinect, what is your appreciation for it?

I bought mine in January and I have one word for it: Wow.

I am old school gamer (Dragon's Lair, Rygar, 1943, 1942 so on..) and like to play racing games on the Xbox. Now that we have Kinect, it is the thing that brings us the most fun in the house as far as gaming macine goes.

I have 4 games for it: Fruit ninja, Gunstringer, Kinect Adventures and Dance Central. We had friends over on Saturday night and asked them if they wanted to play. They did and really enjoyed it.

Yesterday, my wife and I played Fruit Ninja in co-op. Let me tell you that my arms are some sore today.

My question is this: What games did you get and what do you think is a must have game for the Kinect?

As far as input devices go, Kinect is amazing! Like all input devices, it is better and worse at others. For example, it would make a horrible input devices for FPS games, for instance.

Kinect shines as a controller for Dance Central-style games. I also like the voice input capabilities.

we got one at christmas and have been enjoying it. we have dance central 2, kinect sports seasons one and two, kinect adventures, kinectimals and carnival games. i think we'll buy fruit ninja soon. i got forza 4 and cod mw3. lots of fun.

the only problem was that playing it on our 36" tv wasn't so cool, so i had to buy a 60" plasma.

I pity you having to buy a 60 inch plasma.

I bought Party Games today and played with my wife. I thought there would be a bowling game in it but it was puck bowling. I also got Yoostar 2. It is alright but not my fave.

How do you like Kinect Sports 1 and 2?

How is the dart playing? On Party Games, you have to move around making a cursor go up or down left or right. Then you can through your dart. I would like Kinect to see where I am aiming...not me having to move a target beforehand.

on darts, you hold your hand up and you see an image of a hand holding a dart on screen as well as a target. you then get your target where you want it, pull your hand back to lock the target and "throw" to release the dart. the motion of your hand when throwing the dart will make the dart go off target if you throw high, low etc.

and we tried some soccer over the past couple of days. you basically just pass and shoot, but as the goalie you can use your hands and you can use your head too. simple but fun.

After reading your post #53, I went and bought Kinect Sports 1. We have been playing it all day today. Playing boxing with my wife, she thought she was Klitchko from last night. She kicked my butt!

Are they all retail games, downloadable or a mix?

Cheers

2 are downloaded an the rest are store bought.

Last night we played KinectSports with Bowling and Table Tennis. Wife owned me big time! I have no idea how she managed that one. I am now looking for the curling game I saw but can't recall the actual name of the game. It might be a game coming out soon or something.

The games we have now are: Kinect Sports, Yoostar 2, Dance Central, Party Games, KinectAdventures, Fruit Ninja, Gun Stringer and I think I'm missing one but can't recall. Having played Wii at friends house, I enjoy Kinect better since my body is more involved. I might have to look at renting Star Wars Kinect....
