Yet another new channel not available in Sudbury. Well, after 9 years with Nothern Cable, then Persona and now Eastlink, I will unplug the cable and go Satellite tomorrow. The giant price increase in October did me in and I can't justify paying that much for TV. I will save $120 a month with the switch. I will still lurk to see how long it takes for Sudbury to catch up with the real world.

Well, I can't blame you for doing what you are doing..Been there but stuck it out. Have you called them to cancel yet? Maybe it is being added on Monday.

Food HD working here too. Wonder what else is coming.

When i cancelled, they didn't even ask why or try and keep me as a customer. So thats 3 grand less for them. With more competition coming to Sudbury, Eastlink may want to brush up on their retention skills.

3 grand? Crap, come to think of it I pay more than that in one year. Digital, HD, 2 DVRs, Whole home, third DCT, TMN/Mpix, 10 themes, 40MB internet and phone.

Default Discovery HD

I reckon Discovery HD is the next channel they are adding as the logo has appeared in the standard HD package on the Eastlink website. If so, great news.

I have to say that is interesting, Terra Nivium, and made even more so by the fact that Discovery World is listed, separately, in the HD Extra Pack, where it has been all along. This is the first time I have ever seen both of these channels, in HD, listed on Eastlink's website.

I hope that whoever put that on Eastlink's website didn't "jump the gun" or anything, and t would be awesome if it were true. Hopefully, that means an agreement with Bell Media to carry their channels is in the offing, and that also means Space HD.

I think it's an error. It's in the middle with the rest of the "D"s. All the new ones are at the end of the list....Sorry.

(Please let me be wrong.)

Good observation there, denben73, and sadly, I think that you're correct that it is indeed an error. I think that so many of us want that channel that we are grasping at any possibility it might be coming.

Ironically, someone did ask about Discovery on twitter a couple of days ago, and Eastlink said, "We're working on it, it is a very popular request".

Since I haven't seen that part of Eastlink's website in a long time, I wonder how long Discovery HD has been listed on it. Perhaps someone else will have a better memory than myself about this.

Nothing new today. Is it over?

I know from the twitter feed they've had issues with CTV News Channel being labelled as HD only...that pissed off a few people. They might have had to spend the day on that.

Someone with the Username TourfDuty has been inquiring about it on Twitter. Hmmm...

It's not me....my name is obvious once you see it.

I got a call about my NHL CI problem today and the I was told Discovery is agreed in principle, it is just a question of start date. The guy wouldn't confirm a date for SpaceHD "but it is on the list of channel's that will be added shortly".

It would sound like a deal is struck or they are just finishing up details.

That sure sounds like an interesting chat that you had with the CSR, Terra Nivium, and it would certainly be excellent news if a deal has indeed been struck with Bell. Keeping my fingers crossed, for sure!

However, I always remain skeptical about anything regarding the Bell Media situation, until I see the channels actually show up in the guide. I still remember quite clearly, way back last July, when someone asked on twitter about Space HD, and the answer was "coming soon".
