I have a Videotron cisco 8642 hd pvr and I am trying to figure out the best picture format. The choices are auto dvi/hdmi, upconvert1, upconvert 2 and fixed. Does anyone know the difference and which is best.

FAQ on the topic of upconversion:
http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=87543 Auto - lets the signals pass through. Upconvert obviously upconverts the signals to either 720P or 1080i for HD and I believe 480P for SD - you can easily check by viewing the front of the STB. Fixed sends out a fixed format - usually 1080i is best.
