I have a big, ugly brown AM/FM/Intercom box mounted on the wall in the kitchen. It's a throw back to the 80's. I'd like to replace it with a hard wired iPod dock, complete with speakers.
So the unit I'm looking for is 110 volt hard wired (no AC plug) and the speakers would be part of the self contained unit. This way I simply remove the old intercom, wire up the AC and I'm good to go. Pretty sure there will be drywall patching to make up for the size difference, but that's fine. Has anyone ever come across something like this? |

I saw something on Engadget about an announced product at CES that seemed to fit your needs, but I can't find it at the moment. It was in the last few days.

If you find something you want with a plug, cut the plug off and splice the wires...

Do a search for "Philips sleek micro music system" or "Gogroove"
I'm not sure if it's what your looking for but I think they are both wall mountable. |

There's a similar wall-mountable Sony unit :
CD, radio, dock-enabled

Call off the search; we have a winner!
