I currently read books on my Touch using the mobile Kobo app. I am also able to read these books on my desktop computer.
I was planning on purchasing a Kobo reader for my wife as a gift. Does anyone know if it is possible, for example, for my wife to set up a Kobo account, purchase a book and read it on her Kobo reader, but also allow me to read the same book on my Kobo Touch App? I assume that if I set up her Kobo reader through my account, then I should be able to read that book on the Kobo reader, my computer, my Touch etc. But I would like for my wife to have her own "account" for all of her own books, but I would like to be able to "share" some of them across to my account. Is that possible? |

I don't think so. I think your best bet is to keep it on one account. The only problem I can see with the one account approach is that your I'm reading list will actually be "our reading list"

I picked one up today, just setting it up now. 99% positive no sharing between two accounts (only the B&N nook allows that, and only once per title if the publisher allows).
I also have been using the Kobo app on my iPod Touch. I am trying to figure out if even when using one account it is going to be possible to read two different books at once. Say if I read something on the Touch and my husband reads something on the Kobo at the same time. Guess I will find out tomorrow. |

Thanx. If you could let me know even about sharing between one account but across platforms (Touch and Kobo ereader) that would be great.
True, using 1 account probably makes the most sense (assuming it works) but that is the exact point I am trying to avoid (i.e. "I'm reading" is what "we're reading"). |

You can only have 1 account on the Kobo eReader. It syncs with the desktop application.
You can share that 1 account across platforms (desktop, iphone, Kobo eReader, etc) |

Can you have to Kobo Ereaders linked to one account, so that bookes purchased in that account can be read on both ereaders?

We have a Kobo Wi FI. a Kobo Vox and an Ipod touch with Kobo app. Books bought under ONE account appear on all devices with very few exceptions

We had 2 accounts, one in my name and one for DW. She wanted them combined into one account. They did that for her. Now I read on my Android with the kobo app and she reads on her kobo and her iPad. We just have to remember what books we are reading!

The kobo itself can only be tied to one account. But you can still buy books from another kobo account and load them onto the same kobo using Adobe Digital Edition. I do it that way all the time.
