I am considering to get a Fido LG optimus 2x and put it on Bell. I am wondering whether I can 3G data connection.
I really like bell's $10 prepaid data plan because I only need data to occasionally check email and view map. Any idea? |

It will work fine, but you'll need to get it unlocked first. That said, is there not a comparable Bell phone you'd like instead?

Thanks for your reply. I will unlock it. I heard some phones could not get 3G on bell's network, so I asked this question. I want to get Fido LG optimus 2x just because I like the the dual core and the IPS screen.

Since Rogers/Fido, Bell, and Telus all use the same frequencies for 3G (HSPA/UMTS 850/1900MHz), their phones will work on each other's networks as long as the phone is unlocked. If you have a WIND or Mobilicity phone however, you won't be able to use it on Bell & Telus at all, and on Rogers/Fido you'll be limited to EDGE speeds.
