Default Toshiba Qosmio Laptop delivers 3D without the glasses

Toshiba announced today that its Qosmio F750 laptop which lets users view 3D content without the need for 3D glasses is now available in Canada.

To achieve the 3D effect, the Toshiba laptop combines a built-in web camera to track the position of the viewer’s eyes and a 15.6-inch lenticular 3D screen in order to deliver separate images to the right and left eye.

While the notion of a glasses free 3D experience is appealing, early reviews of the laptop’s 3D features are not positive. In its review Slashgear described the 3D effect as “relatively underwhelming in comparison to the better TVs using active or passive glasses technology” while Engadget remarked the 3D effect faltered when the viewer’s head moved.

The Qosmio F750 sells for $1,799.
