Canada is leading a major research project on deep sea life and tectonic off the coast of B-C. The project web site is http://www.neptunecanada.ca

The project is impressive; 800km of underwater cables were installed at dept of near 3km, underwater robots, lots of cameras, probes and all kind of technologies.
