Anyone know how to solve this issue without running additional audio cables? According to the manual (and my knowledge of coax [or at least I thought] video and audio should come through the coax run to a second TV? Assistance and even commiseration appreciated

I take it you are running a 9200 or 9242.
You are correct, there should be audio on that output, I have not come across a receiver that had Video only, so your s is unique.....lol I can only suggest trying another Channel or ensure that the receiver is outputting Audio by trying another TV. You might also consider trying another Audio source to prove it is not the TV. Is it possible the TV is on MUTE.? You just never know. |

Happens to me once in a while. I just do a hard reset on the receiver (hold the power button for a few seconds). That should fix it.

Thanks for the input. I currently have it on Channel 73 since my input is cable not antenna but I will try the lower channels. Definitely not a mute issue (pleased to say that I did think of that one
I will try these tonight and report back. While priding myself as unique I think I would rather be part of the flock like the rest of the sheep here. Unique = frustration and strange mitigative strategies like new TVs or padded walls. |

If the coax feed is the only feed going into the TV, choosing either Cable or Antenna should work, it will just drive you completely mad trying to find sugnal if you choose Antenna, as the number you choose on the receiver will not match where you find it on the TV.....lol
The Hard Reset will not affect anything, except maybe restore Audio. Do this last if you enjoy a challenge.......lol Good luck, I would still try another device if possible. |

Checked TV audio and is fine from another source. Did hard reset. Changed output Channel to 74 (between First and Third recommended cable channels) and then had to mess about with the TV1 and TV2 settings. Turns out CH21-69 Coax Out is specific to TV1 and will not function properly in dual TV1/TV2 mode. Long story short, it works when in TV1 mode only. Thanks for your help and suggestions. Now I just have to figure out how to fish the cable across the basement ceiling.
