Default Question about multi lnb install

I currently have a 20" dish with a single LNB, I have purchased the y adapter and a second LNB. Will I need to repoint the dish, as it is already getting 100% signal from 91. Also, both LNB's are identical, is the 82, 91 degree just for reference when hooking up to the switch?

Cheers

The LNB's are identical, and yes the markings are just for reference.

As far as repointing goes, if you're getting 100% from 91 AND have already set the SKEW on the dish, then you should just be able to plug and play.

If you haven't set the SKEW, then do that first and see how it affects the 91 reception, adjust elevation and azimuth to optomize it again, then plug in the second LNB and you should be good to go!

Thanks for the advice, I take it the skew has to be adjusted when you upgrade a single lnb to a dual lnb setup?

Yes, the skew setting is what allows the dish to see both sat's at the same time. The severity of the SKEW setting will vary depending on your location, and in my experience it was quite easy to adjust, as it isn't nearly as specific as the elevation and azimuth settings. It seems you can be a few degrees off on SKEW and still get a signal from both birds (assuming the other 2 settings are correct).

Good Luck!

You can't get both sats with anything other than a skew-able 20" dish.
