Default Audio dropouts?

I have Eastlink in Sudbury with a DCT 6412 and have had the box for a number of years. Periodically, I'd get audio dropouts, and I didn't really care all that much about it. But I had to stop watching Battlestar Galactica during its first run partway through the second season due to audio dropouts that made it unwatchable due to missed dialogue. At first I had thought it was a bad recording, so I deleted that copy and set it to record again, and same thing. I've never watched BSG since. But that's not the point.

Now audio dropouts seem to be occuring far more frequently. I record a lot of my shows, but it still does happen with live TV. I have it happen on my recordings of Dragon's Den. Just awhile ago, I was watching something live on G4 (now simply G4 instead of G4TechTV) and the audio dropouts were happening nearly every second! Well, I've gone from not caring to being frustrated about this. Most of the time when this happens, the picture is fine with it continuing on as usual with the sound dropping out. Don't know what the problem could be. Bad cables underground? Been awhile since we've had our cable checked.

No HDTV here, so just using the normal feeds, but I'm wondering if it could also be a bandwidth issue anyway.

Using a Motorola DCT6200, HD package from Eastlink. Tons of audio drop-outs on G4 TechTV, one of my most watched channels. No problems noticed on any other channel. What gives?

DS.

So, it's a problem with you too? At least now I know it's not my cables underground. Seems more like an Eastlink issue so far.

The dropouts are not Eastlinks fault, it's there sources that the problem stems from. I do get the ocassional dropout myself but it use to be really bad awhile back but it is not an issue with Eastlink but there source..
