Looks like we got a Software and Firmware update this week. Now at 75.59 for software and 16.74 for firmware. Everything looks like it's working OK on my 6416

New search feature looks like it will make it easier to find shows. Faster access to letters instead of having to scroll down through the alphabet.

Also, I see now when I program-record a football game the UI will ask me if want to extend the recording time and then give me an option for how long I want to extend it.
Kinda cool.

Found an issue with FF/RW while watching a show while recording. I was recording the Bomber/Ti-Cat game. about an hour and a half, selected the recording and started from the beginning watched about an hour and had to stop to run an errand. Came back 15 minutes later and started to watch the recording again while it was still recording. I accidentally started from the beginning and used FF4 to move it ahead to where I left off. Halfway to the point to which I wanted to start it jumped to the current time (live). So I tried rew4 and a little ways in it jumped back to the very beginning. Tried a couple times. I ended up watch it from the live point on as a I couldn't FW or RW to the location where I left off.

Do you know if it is possible to add an external Hard Drive to the Motorola 6412? I know you can now do this on Shaw with their latest software update.

Rob the only way to know for sure is to ask Novus. Shaw had to install software on their headend and to authorize each box to use an external drive. It's more than a firmware update.

I called and it is possible. Just connect a drive to the eSata port, turn on the PVR and it will format the drive. She warned that only connections through the eSata port will work.
Yay! |
