Default Cogeco 2009 New Channels discussion

New Channels always generate a lot of discussion so this thread is for discussing new channels in 2009.

You're welcome to speculate and discuss new channels coming to Cogeco in 2009 but PLEASE unless it's been confirmed by an official press release, be clear about what is speculation and what is fact.

A post saying "a CSR said it was coming" is NOT official, however, it does put it in the "highly" likely category.

If its posted on the CRTC site that its been approved by the CRTC but Cogeco has not said anything, I would consider that in the "not very likely at this time" category.

This thread replaces the Cogeco 2008 New Channels Discussion

Default Speed HD

I noticed that Speed HD was listed under Cogeco's HD channel pack, on a Cogeco channel lineup that I got at Future Shop.

I haven't noticed this before, so sorry if it was alreay posted.

Did he mention whether we have to fork over more money or will it be part of the regular HD package?

from what he said I believe that it will be part of the current HD pack so the price will stay the same

I'd be happy with Cogeco getting all the channels they currently offer to all work at the same time.

I'd also be happy if they would add the necessary channels so that all content provided by Rogers on the Super Sports Pack could be seen on Cogeco (HD channel 495 anyone?). I love how Rogers added more HD programming to the SSP and because of channel mapping we actually end up with less on Cogeco. And fix the bleeping program guide once and for all, will ya?

all my channels work (not at the same time though, i only have 2 tuners in my digital box). Cogeco doesn't make the guide either, its called the iGuide by macrovision.

I will gladly sign up for the Super Sports Pack, if they offer a channel for NFL that shows multiple small live video feeds of all NFL games currently on, put a red box around any game in the red zone. Next allow me to use the arrow buttons on the remote to select a particular feed, and watch the channel for that feed. Hitting Last on my remote returns me to the "multi-feed channel"

From what I'm told by my friends out west, Shaw does this for their NFL package, and the NFL is hardly as big out there as it is in Ontario.

That's called NFL game Mix and it's great(D* sub). Also the Redzone Channel is another one they could add.

Sportsnet Ontario HD goes live Jan 12th. Is Cogeco getting this channel? Apparently, the national channel will disappear. Am I wrong with these statement?

Default Any chance Cogeco adds the MLB Network anytime soon?

Or is it gonna be the same old crap as the NFL Network?

Any chance of Cogeco getting Global and/or City TV OD, or is that locked up with Rogers? I noticed they have 24 Season 7 OD for free, so at least one Global show is available now.
