Which would you recommend for HT set up?
I have narrowed it down to these 3. Digital Video Essentials [HD DVD] (2005) What I have read so far: HD version of Video Essentials dvd does not have instructions and is hard to follow but the flip side includes the original NTSC version which is easy to follow and has instructions and is also the reference video of choice. Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics [HD DVD or BR] Which seems to be an update to the above title. Is available at US retailers but is not a combo dvd. Avia, Vol. 2: Guide to Home Theater (2008) What I have read so far: All good things about this but it is not HD version and has little information on HD. The website states that a HD, BR and PAL are coming soon. Doubtful on the HD version. For those that have used either of these which would you recommend? Will I get the same end results if I buy the NTSC version which is included on the flip side of the dve and is the format of the Avia? My set up: 6.1 configuration Polk Audio RM201 RM101 speakers 6.1 Kenwood VR6070 THX Reciever Venturer SHD7000 (Connection: HDMI into DVI connection at TV) Sony KP-46WT510 Last edited by gfong; 2008-05-11 at 02:02 PM. I did my own searching and research and I ordered the Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics off of Amazon.com. Should be here soon and will give it a try.
My daughter at Windsor U was nice enough to hit Radio Shack last week on a shopping trip over in Detroit and she picked up the analog SPL meter for me. May do a review on the meter and the HD DVD once I am done setting things up. |
