Default Extended Guide - with 9200

Just yesterday I happened to upgrade my TV from a 42 inch screen to 50 inch (it was a warranty thing and I paid the difference to get the bigger screen). But when asking my kids what they thought of the new set, they commented that the text on the guide looked SO BIG.

So I went into the 9200 "Preference => Guide Display" and I noticed a new setting: "Extended Guide with video" ....something I hadn't noticed before and a setting not covered by the HELP.

Anyway I tried it and liked it right away. With the previous "Standard Menu" setting we could see 5 channels for a 1.5 hours period, but the new "Extended menu" setting we can see channels for a three hour period.

No idea how long it has been their for - nor if I would use it when I only had the 42inch screen. But with 50 inch screen, this is perfect. Thought I wouldshare this with others.

It's been there since the beginning. Sorry you missed it. You can have picture-in-guide with the extended guide also.

It's a global change isn't it? I wish it could be customized for use in dual mode. In my case using the extended option makes for very difficult guide viewing on TV2...

Default extended guide

I believe we had 2 different guides, one for each TV1 and TV2 on my 9200.

Have you given it a try?

The change isn't global - only affected my big screen HDTV. The old clunker is unchanged ... but i had to check after I saw your post.

I was sure it was. Must be my old-timers acting up.

Good to know. I may just reconfigure mine...
