I have a 50V500. It's a rear projection LCD HDTV, and it's about 3 years old. Lately, I've noticed a green dot on the screen, most noticeable when there are dark colours in that area of the screen. It's always at the same place. Since this is not a DLP TV, I cannot figure out why I would have a dot at the same place, and always green. I've inspected the screen, and it's intact.
Any ideas what the problem is? Thanks |

Which means what, and what is the solution? Sorry to be so ignorant.

Stuck pixels are one of the failure modes of LCD, DLP, and Plasma TVs. They can either be stuck off (black) or on, which is what you have.
They are caused by a failure in the panel that is used to control the individual colours. There's no way to fix them. |

Is it a dot or a blob? I've had the "green blob" on my Sony RPLCD and it was dust on the LCDs that needed cleaning.

It's a dot. When you say it needed cleaning in your case, you disassembled the TV and cleaned the projector inside?
