The article doesn't explain how Time Warner expects to be able to deliver SDV to 50% of their subs in 2007 given this is a relatively new technology. However, it does sit on the existing network and the magic works in the head end; so I guess it's possible
In any case, it's coming. Most of Time Warner is 750 MHz and less so "unlimited HD" sounds particularly fruitful for areas like Rogers in NB and NL which are mainly at that capacity. It could be a boon for Telco TV services, too, except their problem is the "last mile" which (most, anyway) can't handle multiple HD streams, or even one in MPEG2. |

TW is going to standardise to their in-house "Navigator" platform nationwide, so at least on the box end, it will work fine.

SDV is just another way to kill CCs'. All they need to do is get rid of the 'fluff', religious crap and those stupid shopping channels. Take a survey and let their customers vote on what they never or rarely watch.
