Default When do you think OTA DTV is coming to Canada?

I am just wondering when everyone thinks OTA DTV is coming to Canada?

John

Maybe this should be a poll?

Canada is so "well cabled" and covered by satellite, also these are both carrying "available" HD stations, that I don't expect much demand for OTA, like there is in the US, where the cable infrastructure is behind (upgrades to 750 MHz+ are progressing, but slowly and the cable companies are slow to carry the local stations.... (Cable has about 70% market share in North America.)

As stations do go digital, there will be OTA signals to be had, but that may take a while.

Specialty channels are more likely to be HD, and they would be carried on Cable/satellite and not OTA at all.

When the broadcasters need to enforce their simultaneous substitution rights, that's when they'll fire up digital transmitters.

Jan.16, 2003 - isn't this when CITY started CITY-HD. And they have had all of about 10 hours in HD since then.

City actually had more HD programming with their various test loops, before the formal launch, than they have had since...
