problem with samsung HL-S5687W - Canadian TV, Computing and Home Theatre Forums

Bought the TV in early Jan 07 and have now started noticing that the picture is crooked going from top left to top right. the picture is square with the top of the tv on the left, but about 1/4" below on the right side. the picture is replaced with a black border. it seems that the picture is fine everywhere else and it does not happen on every channel or source.

I have a three month old version of the same set -
though I don't have your problem, I have a different one, and I have service coming this week.
The HDMI ports have stopped functioning (or functioning properly).
With one of my devices, I no longer get a video feed at all.
I've swapped cables, devices etc.
For the DVD player, although it seems to work, when I use HDMI, none of the controls on the DVD or remote work, and the picture will disappear and the TV states "Weak or No Signal".
Everything works fine on Component, S-Video etc., if I switch the devices. I've tested the cables and they're fine.
It seems unlikely that two devices, and two cables failed, more likely the HDMI ports are acting up.
