Default HDMI cables

I've got the Phillips dvd 5960 and the sony kdf-55e200 tv. (over component)
Does it make any sense to spend $200/$300 on a hdmi cable. There are $20cables out there or even less on ebay. How do they compare to those expensive ones?

It makes no sense to pay more than say $20 if the cable is less than 10'. See the following threads.

Does it make any sense to pay more for the cable than you did for the DVD player?

Default Discount Cables

You may also note that it does not make much difference for other cables such as Optical (toslink), coaxial, etc. $20 will get you pretty much the same quality as > 100 ones.

Thx. That's what I thought. How big of an improvement can I expect with hdmi over component.

The answer to that question is in the second link of post 2 (points 2, 3). Please take the time to read it. I took the time to post it.
