Default Sounds good to me

This is an excellent tv (read the reviews of the 60" model on cnet.com). And that sounds like a good deal. I bought mine in the U.S. for $CAN 2,665 (no tax, no shipping charge), but I had to pay 5% duty and of course I cannot get warranty service in Canada. So that's quite close to the US price.

I've had the 50A2000 for 3 weeks and I love it. Make sure you shop around. You should be able to get it for 10 to 15% below list price.

Angry Price drop effect on sets in stock for stores

Hi,

I bought my KDS50A2000 5 days before Sony's price drop at a Brault et Martineau store in Laval, Quebec. They had the TV in stock.

When Sony makes a price drop, do vendors get an equivalent rebate for the TV they already have in stock?

Thanks
Fred

Their priced was 3299 and I got the TV for 2800.

Are you saying that I can go back to BM and ask for the same rebate they gave me but with the new 2999 MSRP?

I know FS and Best Buy have 30 days money back guarantee but I dont think BM has that.

Thanks

I'm in Alberta but had a similar experience. Bought the A2000 at The Sony Store (with a 30 day price guarantee) for the same price as you (before MSRP drop). My original price was about 15% off MSRP. Went back to the Sony Store and negotiated a new price that was 15% off the new, lower MSRP.

I would check out the store's return policy. If the TV is returnable threaten to take it back unless they credit you the price difference.

Default FS flyer.

Things are amuzing. Especially in the east.

I open the FS flyer and imagine that they have the 50 and 60 A2000 models.

At the old prices ... What's it been a week or 2 since Sony dropped the prices.

I guess at least they are carrying them now in the Far East..

So I think you are asking why aren't the prices in the flyers more current.

Well if you think about it these flyers are probably in preparation many weeks before publication date. As to the volume printed I cannot even guess, but there seems to be one in virtually every paper in the country each Friday, so there is a time component involved here also.

So I would suggest when a manufacturer unexpectedly reduces a price, it may take a few weeks ito reflect this in a flyer.

No big deal. I was in a Sony Store and they had the old price on the 60A2000 after the MSRP was dropped to $4199.....4 weeks earlier. It happens.

Default $1999

Best Buy is now selling this TV for $1999. The 2007 model has not changed except for the color. This is a great deal!

This is definitely a great deal. I got this TV three months ago, and I sit with jaw agape at the lovely HD picture I get. Its scaling abilities are pretty good too. $2000 is definitely worth it!

cheers,
supervij

My friend bought the 55A2000 for 2500$ including stand and HD box(Audiotronics). I'm sure you can get the 50 inch at around 1800$
