From Telus site
Quote:
This won't make any difference for phone calls but if you have a wireless modem hooked up to your laptop, you'll get much faster downloads or if your phone has video and audio capabilities, you'll get the video and music and video faster.

If your internet connections consist of only dial-up or satellite you can buy an AirCard and get fairly decent transfer speed, providing you have cell coverage at your home. 1X is still better than dial-up and if you have EVDO Rev A you can get really good transfer speeds. The plan is between $75 and $100/month (depending on where you live!).
I just got setup and so far so good. 2199kbps down and 315kbps up on average.
