I just finished watching Cabin Fever (2003) which they gave 3 out of 4 stars. No way any credible film critic would rate it that high. Does anyone know how TMN comes up with the star ratings on each movie? Do they slap on whatever information the studio provides?
Other examples: Hidalgo (2004) 3 stars Collateral (2004) 4 stars Elektra (2005) 2 stars If they want to encourage more people to watch the movie, why not just everything a dazzling 4 stars?!? |

They don't use 1 so I guess the majority of the movies are either a 2, 3, or 4. Sort of like (2) poor, (3) average and (4) good. Cabin Fever = average. Not far off. The others you mentioned seem to fit that mold.

I saw there was a 1 the other day....I didn't watch it. I think you have to treat the TMN rating system like hotels in a third world country where a 5 is the minimum you'd stay in.....
