Default sony dhg hdd250

Does anyone in GTA have one of these.I would only be using OTA recording.Does the TVGOS tv guide load in and which channels transmit it.This is important as there is no manual timer programming or manual clock input. Also the TVGOS is transmitted over analog signals, what will happen in 2009 when all the US analogs go off. Will the guide be gone too?

Thumbs up

rob50312:

Most of your questions can be answered using info. from the
DGH-HDD250/500 FAQ page:
http://www.spiffspace.com/sonydvr.html#Section112

Any remaining issues are generally resolved in this (lengthy) thread:
AVSForum Official DHG-HDD250/500 thread:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showt...1&page=1&pp=30

Your biggest issues are likely to be downloading the TVGOS data, especially
over digital cable. If that presents a problem, you may want to see my
second and third posts here:

http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/show...d=1#post461662

Please let us now how things turn out for you. I almost bought this unit,
but settled for another, similar Sony, so I'm quite curious. I'm also trying to
get feedback to compile an FAQ/HOWTO on getting TVGOS working properly
in Canada.
